Ladies, Sauerkraut Making Night is coming up Friday, September 25th at 6:30 pm! Mark your calendars. 😉
A couple of things in planning ahead:
1. In order to make sure we have enough supplies, we need to know if you are planning on coming. Please message Maile. There will be a small fee of $10-15 per person to cover the jars and sauerkraut ingredients.
2. Inna will be instructing us in both a “basic method and a “higher-tech” method. The BASIC method doesn’t require any extra supplies but does require you to check on your sauerkraut twice a day for about 2 weeks. For this option, we will use quart sized wide mouth canning jars.
If you want to try the easier “HIGHER-TECH” method, there are a couple things you will need to order on your own before the 25th— Inna says these fermentation lids are a MUST:

If you want to choose this option, you will need to order these now to get them by the 25th.
Also, this option will use half-gallon sized wide mouth canning jars.
3. Half-gallon and quart-sized wide mouth canning jars are in short supply in the local stores! If you have some on hand that you are willing to donate to the group or bring for your own use that night, please let Maile know ASAP by commenting below. (We will adjust the event fee accordingly.)
